Silver Economy Fund invests in CareHub

The Quadrivio Group fund enters the outpatient diagnostics sector, with the goal of creating a group with a turnover of 100 million euros. The initiative involves the integration of outpatient clinics and the development of a network of health services, that use artificial intelligence in the screening phase.

Silver Economy Fund enters the world outpatient diagnostics through the investment in CareHub, a project aimed at developing a network of outpatient services, with a focus on different specialties. The goal is to create a group with a turnover of 100 million euros, becoming a key player in this sector.

The Private Equity vehicle of Quadrivio Group, which invests in companies that offer goods and services dedicated to the Silver Age, will support Brexia Med S.r.l. as an investor partner. The company, promoter of the project, is currently led by co-founders Alessandro Bartucci and Gianluca Santoro, both with over ten years of experience in health development initiatives.

CareHub represents the third investment for the fund, which previously acquired a majority stake in Siare and The Private Clinic, the former specialising in the design and production of electromedical equipment for anaesthesia and resuscitation; the second on the other hand includes a group of clinics based in the United Kingdom, which provide advanced aesthetic and dermatological medical treatments.

The CareHub initiative is based on a “Hub & Spoke”, model, which combines the traditional outpatient offer with some innovative services, which involve the use of artificial intelligence in the patient screening phase. This model responds to the growing need for health services at local level and will at the same time guarantee a widespread presence in the territory, through the dissemination of high-tech spokes suitable for an initial screening phase. An outpatient and diagnostic facility is also provided to guarantee all first-level health services and the highest quality standards. The project also includes an advanced organizational approach, which will allow for optimizing the offering and valorizing the doctors.

Nowadays, the sectors of diagnostics and proximity medicine in Italy record a positive trend, also favoured by the ageing of the population, the spread of chronic diseases, as well as the greater attention paid to the issue of prevention. A market with very high development potential, but characterised by a high level of fragmentation. CareHub, with the support of the Silver Economy Fund, intends to contribute to the consolidation of the entire sector, supporting the development of this network throughout the country, through a “buy & build” strategy.
The integration of the most traditional outpatient services and the most innovative ones will be promoted, also taking advantage of the support of artificial intelligence. The ultimate goal is the creation of a leading industry player in the diagnostics and outpatient services market.

The CareHub transaction was monitored by the Silver Economy Fund Team, led by Galeazzo Scarampi - Managing Partner of the Fund, with the support of Stefano Malagoli - Partner, Dario Di Iorio - Senior Investment Manager and Oliver Ghezzi - Analyst.

Alessandro Binello, Group CEO of Quadrivio Group and Managing Partner of the Fund, said: “As a team we are working to create a leading industry player in the diagnostics and outpatient services market. I believe that CareHub has enormous potential for development and I am convinced that it will be able to respond comprehensively to the countless needs of an increasingly large, but at the moment still too fragmented market. ”

Stefano Malagoli, Partner of the Silver Economy Fund, commented: “We are very pleased to be able to contribute, through this investment, we are certain to contribute to the development and enhancement of healthcare services in Italy. We believe that, thanks to the quality and experience of the management and our support, we could seize the opportunities for consolidation in outpatient and diagnostic services, by proposing an innovative business model, and creating a sector player characterised by proximity of service and innovation.”

”We are proud that the Silver Economy Fund has chosen to support us in this project designed to try to respond to the growing need for quality local health services. We believe that the speed of response to these needs is fundamental, and we are convinced that this partnership will allow us to accelerate its development and enhance its model" added Alessandro Bartucci and Gianluca Santoro, co-founders of CareHub.

For the legal aspects, Quadrivio Group was assisted by Bird & Bird, a firm of lawyers with a team led by the Of Counsel Daniele Raynaud, assisted by lawyers Elena Beccegato and Angelo Fiorello and trainee associate Michele Mallano.
